ESAB FERROARC E6013 Mild Steel Welding Electrode Dubai UAE
ESAB FERROARC Mild Steel Welding Electrode
Premium rutile-coated mild steel electrode for general fabrication, maintenance, and light structural welding. Renowned for its exceptionally smooth arc, easy restrike, minimal spatter, and self-releasing slag — the go-to general-purpose electrode for workshops and fabricators across the Middle East and Africa.
Product Overview
💡 E6013 vs E7018 — Which electrode do I need?
Use the FERROARC E6013 for general fabrication, maintenance, sheet metal, and light structural welding where ease of use and a clean bead appearance are the priority. Use the 36H SPL E7018-1 for critical structural joints, pipeline welding, pressure vessels, and any work where your welding procedure specification (WPS) requires a low hydrogen electrode. Using E6013 on work specified for E7018 is a non-conformance and may result in hydrogen-induced cracking.
What It Is
ESAB FERROARC is a premium rutile-coated mild steel SMAW electrode equivalent to AWS E6013. It is known globally for its smooth, quiet arc, excellent re-ignition, minimal spatter, and self-releasing slag — making it one of the most user-friendly general-purpose electrodes available. Suitable for thin and medium plate, general repairs, light structural work, and welding in all positions including vertical-down.
Who Uses It
Used by fabricators, maintenance welders, general construction welders, and contractors across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, and Tanzania. Particularly popular on general construction sites, maintenance workshops, and light fabrication shops where productivity and weld appearance are the key priorities.
Where It Is Used
General mild steel fabrication, structural steel light works, maintenance and repair welding, sheet metal joining, gate and fence fabrication, general site welding, vehicle body repair, HVAC and MEP sheet metal, agricultural equipment maintenance, and any general-purpose mild steel application where a quality, easy-to-use electrode is needed.

Key Features & Benefits
Exceptionally Smooth & Stable Arc
FERROARC is recognised globally for its extremely smooth, quiet, and stable arc — even at lower amperages and on older or lower-specification welding machines. Produces a clean, cosmetically attractive weld bead with consistent width and minimal undercut. Widely used across workshops in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Africa where machine quality varies.
Excellent Re-strike Performance
The rutile coating chemistry ensures very easy arc re-ignition — critical for production welding and tack welding where the arc is frequently started and stopped. Minimises time loss from failed restarts and reduces electrode waste. Particularly valued on site construction work across Iraq, Nigeria, and Kenya where welding is frequently interrupted.
Self-Releasing Slag — Fast Cleanup
Slag is thin and often self-peeling — it lifts away cleanly from the weld bead surface without heavy chipping, significantly reducing post-weld cleanup time. Important in production welding environments and maintenance workshops across the GCC and Africa where throughput is a key priority.
AC / DC — Any Polarity
The FERROARC works on AC or DC — at either DC+ or DC- polarity — making it fully compatible with the widest range of welding machines, from modern inverter sets to old transformer machines. Ideal for sites across Africa and Iraq where equipment is varied and power supply quality is inconsistent.
All-Position Including Vertical-Down
Excellent in all welding positions — flat, horizontal, vertical-up, and overhead. Also superb for vertical-down (PG) welding — particularly useful on sheet metal, thin plate, and pipe tacking where speed and heat control are critical. Not all E6013 equivalent electrodes perform as well in vertical-down position.
Minimal Spatter — Clean Working
Low spatter levels reduce post-weld grinding and cleaning time — protecting adjacent surfaces, reducing consumable waste, and keeping the work area clean. Particularly valued in light fabrication, sheet metal work, and visible structural welding where weld appearance and surface condition matter to the end customer.
Applications by Industry
| Industry / Application | Detail |
|---|---|
| General Fabrication | Structural mild steel fabrication — gates, fences, frames, furniture, tanks, hoppers, chutes, and general workshop fabrication across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the wider GCC |
| Maintenance & Repair | On-site maintenance and repair welding on mild steel plant, equipment, structures, and pipework — widely used by maintenance contractors across oil & gas facilities, construction sites, and industrial plants in Iraq, Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa |
| Light Structural | Purlins, secondary steelwork, HVAC supports, cable tray supports, MEP hangers, and light structural connections in commercial and industrial construction across the GCC |
| Sheet Metal | Sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, enclosures, cladding, and thin-plate work where heat input control and weld appearance are important — vertical-down capability makes this electrode well-suited for thin plate |
| Agricultural & General Equipment | Farm equipment, trailers, water tanks, and general mild steel fabrication and repair in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and Tanzania |
| Automotive & Vehicle Body | Vehicle frame repairs, body panels, trailer beds, and general mild steel automotive fabrication — particularly in markets across Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana |
