Product Overview

What It Is

Cable laying rollers (cable pulling rollers) support and guide power and communication cables during underground, trench and cable-tray installation. By converting the sliding friction between the cable and the ground into rolling friction, they dramatically reduce the pulling force required and protect the cable sheath from abrasion damage. The range covers straight, corner, manhole guide and bend rollers to suit every point in a cable route.

Who Uses It

Electrical contractors, MEP contractors, cable-pulling crews, utility and infrastructure installers across the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman — anyone laying LV, MV or HV power cables, control cables or fibre optic bundles in trenches, ducts, cable trays and manholes.

Where It Is Used

Underground cable trenches, duct banks, cable tray routes, substation cable pits, road and utility crossings, and manhole/duct entries across power distribution (DEWA, SEC, KAHRAMAA), oil & gas, infrastructure and building projects throughout the GCC.

Roller Types — One for Every Point in the Route

➖

Straight Cable Roller

Placed every 2–3 metres along straight trench sections to keep the cable off the ground during the pull. Standard and wide-base versions.

Load: 250–300 kg · Cable: up to 200mm
📐

Triple Corner Roller

Three rollers in a steel tubular frame to guide cable around sharp corners. Link multiple units with stake pins to form any turning angle while respecting bend radius.

Load: up to 10 kN · Cable: up to 155mm
🕳️

Manhole Guide Roller

Two vertical waisted rollers plus a horizontal roller, mounted at a manhole or duct entrance to feed cable smoothly down into a vertical duct. Galvanized or stainless.

Load: 300 kg · Cable: up to 155mm
↩️

Bend / Vertical-Horizontal Roller

Vertical, horizontal and skid bend rollers to take the cable around a smooth bend rather than a sharp corner. Combine vertical + horizontal for cable above 130mm.

Type: Vertical · Horizontal · Skid
🔻

V-Groove / Drum Feed Roller

V-groove pipe roller that centralises and leads the cable from the drum into the trench. Placed just behind the cable drum as a run-off guide.

Use: Drum run-off & feed-in
🛡️

4-Roller Cable Protection

Four-roller box that fully surrounds the cable for maximum protection and guidance at high-sidewall-pressure points or tight duct entries.

Use: Full-surround protection

Key Features & Benefits

💪

Reduces Pulling Force

Converts sliding friction between the cable and the ground or tray into rolling friction — dramatically cutting the pulling force required and allowing longer pulls with less winch capacity and fewer crew.

🛡️

Protects the Cable Sheath

Supports the cable off the ground and guides it smoothly around corners within its minimum bend radius — preventing abrasion, sheath damage and the costly rejection of a damaged cable at test.

⚙️

Sealed Maintenance-Free Bearings

Rollers run on sealed, water-proofed ball bearings that need no maintenance — reliable in muddy, wet and dusty trench conditions across GCC construction sites.

🔗

Link-Pin Modular System

Corner and bend rollers share universal link-pin mount positions, so units can be linked together to build any turning angle or a full bend configuration from standard components.

⏳

Waisted Roller Profile

The waisted (hourglass) roller shape centralises the cable and stops it climbing or slipping off the roller during the pull — critical on corner and manhole rollers where the cable is under side load.

🌊

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

Galvanized (electro or hot-dip) or stainless steel frames resist corrosion in wet trenches, coastal and outdoor storage conditions — long service life and reusable across many projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a cable laying roller and how does it work?
A cable laying roller supports the cable during installation and converts the sliding friction between the cable and ground into rolling friction — dramatically reducing the pulling force and protecting the cable sheath from abrasion. Straight rollers go every 2–3m on straight runs; corner rollers go at turning points to guide the cable around bends; and manhole guide rollers sit at a duct/manhole entry to feed cable down into a vertical duct.
What is a triple corner cable roller used for?
A triple corner cable roller (three-roller unit) guides cable safely around sharp corners at turning points, preventing abrasion and maintaining cable integrity. Multiple units link together with stake/link pins to form any turning angle. The manhole version uses two vertical waisted rollers and one horizontal roller to feed cable from ground level down into a vertical duct. Cable capacity is typically up to 155–200mm with load ratings up to 10 kN.
What material and finish are the rollers?
The frame is heavy-duty steel tubular construction with electro-galvanized or hot-dip galvanized finish (stainless steel versions available) for corrosion resistance. Rollers are available in aluminium alloy or nylon, both on sealed, water-proofed, maintenance-free ball bearings. The waisted (hourglass) profile centralises the cable and stops it slipping off.
How many rollers do I need for a pull?
On straight sections, place one straight roller roughly every 2–3 metres. At each corner, use a corner/triple corner roller — the number depends on side-wall pressure and the cable's minimum bend radius, so tighter bends need more units linked together. Use a manhole guide roller at every duct/manhole entry. Send us your cable size and route and we'll advise the roller types and quantities.
How can I get pricing in UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Oman?
Global Hardware & Tools LLC supplies the full range of cable laying rollers — straight, triple corner, manhole guide and bend rollers — across UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi), Qatar (Doha), Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Dammam, Jubail), Kuwait, Oman (Muscat) and Iraq.
