What It Is
The Aquasol I-Purge X is a modular inflatable purge bladder system for TIG (GTAW) pipe welding. Two inflatable bladders seal inside the pipe on either side of the weld joint, creating a purge chamber that fills with inert gas to protect the weld root from oxidation. Its patented Bladder Expansion Technology (BET) lets one unit fit multiple pipe sizes and all schedules within its range — a reusable, long-term alternative to water-soluble paper dams.

Tri-Flow Purge System
🔵 BLUE — Inflate & Purge
Inflates the bladders to seal against the pipe wall, then floods the weld zone with inert gas. The primary connection — required on every setup. 30 SCFH (15 LPM) for 2"–36"; 60 SCFH (28.5 LPM) for 38"–48".
⚫ BLACK — Direct Purge
Optional secondary line that floods the weld zone with inert gas and evacuates oxygen at a faster rate — expediting the purge on larger pipe or where fast turnaround matters.
⚪ WHITE — Exhaust / Monitor
Connects to an oxygen monitor such as the Aquasol POM-100B, reading down to 100 PPM (0.01%) for continuous or spot O₂ verification in the weld zone before welding starts.

Bladder Expansion Technology (BET)
Patented technology lets one unit fit multiple pipe sizes and all schedules within its range — an 8-12" unit fits every pipe from 8" to 12". Bladders expand and contract repeatedly, dramatically reducing the number of purge units a fabrication shop needs to stock.
Spark-Resistant, High-Heat
The durable exterior cover is infused with spark-resistant elements — it does not combust when exposed to flames and sparks, and withstands up to 400°F (205°C) against the pipe. The fiberglass bridge harness withstands up to 1200°F (650°C).
Quick-Connect Modules
Push-button quick-connect fittings snap modules to the harness in seconds — no tools required. Individual modules and parts can be replaced separately, avoiding costly re-purchase of a complete system if one component wears or a new size is needed.
Inert Gas Diffuser
Patent-pending diffuser reduces turbulence by dispersing inert gas equally in all directions within the weld zone — improving weld quality and consistency by preventing uneven gas flow across the root.
Proprietary Relief Valve
Factory pre-set relief valves deliver precise flow rates, maintain an optimum seal on the pipe wall, and prevent over-inflation and bladder burst. A low-profile relief valve is available on the 2" and 3" models.
Reducer & Isolator Configurations
Combine modules of different sizes to create a reducer for stepped pipe joints, or use the I-Purge X Isolator as a one-sided pipe plug for purging valves and tanks, or for sealing during servicing, cleaning and inspection.
